I had a group of 3 teachers (2 teachers and 1 GC actually) who wrote me about 5-8 recommendations each in the past few months and yesterday i found out that I got into my dream school

I come from a very close knit community and I know all of them well outside of school also so I don't think it would be out of line to get them a token gift to show my appreciation for all they have done for me.... does anyone have any good ideas of what I could get for them?

A plate of homemade cookies. A mug or banner from your dream school. Whatever you give (and gifts aren’t necessary) should be accompanied by a heartfelt, personalized, handwritten thank-you note. The note is what’s essential.

Yes, that note is vital. That’s what keeps them going til the next round of students, currently those pesky juniors. Congratulations on dream school!

The note is essential. Think about it: They took a lot of their time writing something that helped you attain your dream. Why wouldn’t you show them the common courtesy of a thank-you note? Gracious thank-you notes are treasured by teachers and GCs, and indeed help keep them working hard in jobs that offer low pay and little respect and typically offer more hassles and complaints than expressions of appreciation.

Whether or not a person is adequately compensated if they do something to help you like writing a recommendation, it’s courteous to give them a handwritten thank-you note.

Hand-written thank you notes, written from the heart (not perfect, not canned, just authentic) are always a treasured thing.

Food is also very much appreciated by teachers, although I am sure they do not expect it. Williams Sonoma always has some fun food gift items to choose from (especially at this time of year). Not too expensive, and they usually doctor up the bag with a nice bow so you don’t have to spend on wrapping paper.
