Gift ideas for teachers?

Since it is the Holiday season, what do you think it is appropriate to get teachers? I want to get something for my teachers who wrote my recs. I don't want to give chocolate or candles since they probably get a lot of that already. Are gift cards okay? Any other ideas?

One time in Physics I managed to blow up one of my teacher's candles (hehehe). It happened right before the Christmas break, so I bought him a new candle "for Christmas" since he had told me not to worry about the other one.

I believe that's the only gift I've ever given a teacher. Aside from the Senior band gift to our director and his birthday lunch that we kidnapped him for, anyway.

Hmmm, can't really think of much, I mean I actually did give gifts to my teachers from high school, but that's when I visited them on my break from college, and so I gave them mugs and books that represented a connection I had with them. Other than that, I guess random soaps or lotions, or anything that smells nice is always pleasing.
