Gifts for Teachers who wrote Recs

Hello there,

So, finally done with the hustle and bustle of sending in summer program apps, what a relief.

Anywho, I had a teacher who wrote several recommendations for me and I was curious as to whether you guys get your teachers gifts for doing such a thing? If so, what types of gifts would you recommend?

I was not able to decide whether gifting a teacher would be over the top / brown-nosing, or whatever you want to call it, and thus, I am asking you. :)

Thanks!

I guess it’s more of an etiquette thing. I did it, well my mom did for me, (hehe), but I do not think that it is necessary. If you feel compelled to do so, a card in my opinion will convey your thankfulness. Granted you are already pretty good with your teacher since you already asked him/her to help you.

I gave all my teachers gifts for writing my letters of rec. Gift cards and chocolate.

I actually just bought my teachers a small box of chocolates and am going to add a little thank-you note.
