Has anyone here ever lived on first floor in Giles? I'd really like to hear about the rooms!

Search for Giles Facebook groups, and you might be able to find some pics.

Thanks, I already have... I am hoping that someone can be more specific

I've only been in the second floor rooms, but they're probably the same. You get hardwood floors and white walls. I found the rooms very spacious; however, I was in Blackwell, so it's all relative. If I remember correctly, you get huge closets.

I lived in Giles on the first floor my freshman year. What room are you in? I can probably tell you about your room specifically.

can anyone say anything about gilbert-addoms first floor rooms?

Yeah, I can tell you about GA. The first floor singles are really small, but the doubles are the same as the other GA doubles (pretty decent size).

Im in room 119 in Giles

first floor GA is separated by gender... girls on one side and guys on the other... um... there is a huge common area between them... room numbers start at the end of the hall on the guys side, so 101 / 102 are at the end of the building... not sure about the girls side... bathrooms are right in hte middle of the hall, with windows facing out towards randolph (over the small quad).

the rooms in GA are large, however set-up flexibility is limited. one interior wall is already completely occupied by shelves and closets, so you have very few options for how to set up your room. i built lofts... and it didn't make that much of a difference - we were restricted to putting our lofts on the wall opposite the closets and shelves.

Aren't all the beds half-lofted anyway? If so, there might be new rules about lofting and such.

No, they're not half-lofted. Just a plain ol' metal frame.

Interesting, so RLHS half-lofted in some dorms but not every one? I know that every room I've been to on West had elevated beds and at least Giles did too. Maybe RLHS will complete the job and do the rest of them by the time we get back
