Sorry about the double post in the study abroad forum, I figured it fit here better since you get more answers and time is of the essence. I'll try to delete the other, but if not, moderators can just delete it. Thanks.

I'm completing the Gilman application today (it's due tonight!) and I'm sort of stuck on the section that says "Follow Up Project"- I'm supposed to propose a project they say I MUST do when I come back from studying abroad to promote studying abroad and the Gilman scholarship. Which is kind of silly since study abroad offices hire people to do both of these things, but who am I to argue with someone who's giving me 4 grand?

Anyway, I'm a filmmaker so I was thinking of proposing to tape some stuff over there and edit together a 10 minute promotional video when I come back. Only thing is, I'd have to buy a cheap camera SPECIFICALLY for this since I don't want to transport my expensive, professional camera over there. I might not have money or time to actually do this project, so what happens IF I propose to do this project, but then can't and have to do something else? How strict is Gilman with this? What if I don't do something to their liking? Once they've given me the scholarship and I've studied abroad, it's not like they can take it back or something (I hope).

So, anyone who has used the Gilman Scholarship to study abroad....what did you do as a follow up and how did it work out?
