I think you'd definitely get accepted to Pitt and maybe also get $$$. Pitt needs the diversity and they have special scholarships for minorities for that purpose. Your academic record is strong, and your ec's are strong too. With all the comp sci, you might want to have a go at CMU if you like Pittsburgh - don't know about the money there, though.

We have met a few AA parents at Pitt orientation stuff. Their kids are there due to the scholarships. They all seem happy. Could be good hook for you.

Also look at Tulane and Rice. Tulane needs diversity and they have loads of scholarships. Rice does too (need diversity; has special scholarships for minorities). Just for grins try U Chicago. I think the hook could work there as well, but you need a killer essay.

Try to get the SATs up a little for Rice and Chicago. Will they weight your grades for the APs? That will help the gpa. Anyway, looks quite promising to me for Pitt. Good luck.

ps - the national achievement thing will help a lot too.

I think w/the National Achievement recognition, you can go just about anywhere. I'd consider the Ivy schools, too. Your SAT's are decent, but try the ACT. Students often do much better on that than the SAT. It's scored differently. Good luck.
