girl problem

alright, yeah, i got ya. i agree, you gotta be confident. sometimes just being confident won't get the girl, but it for sure helps.

NO no no. Don't be there as a friend or whatever. Its disgusting when a friend asks you out because... well... he is just your friend...

Get to know her more like at a party or something, ask her for her number and ask her out....

Let's just make this as simple as possible with a little equation:

Cocky Humor (notice what I said cocky HUMOR. Cocky without the humor is a sure fire way to blow it) + Conversation skills = get any girl you want.

Get a girl laughing, and you're in.

I think that having a good sense of humor as one of the qualities highly desired in guys is one area in which I differ from straight girls (and maybe from other gay guys as well? I don't know). I remember that when I was younger, I was generally not attracted to funny guys (I equated humor with girls, but since I'm attracted to guys, I didn't find humor to be an attractive quality). Now, I appreciate it more, because it suggests compatibility. I especially dislike guys who are purposely humorous because they believe it will make them look attractive (excessive use of sarcasm to be funny, for example, is a cheap tactic IMHO). If one has to think a bit before making jokes, then I believe he or she should just accept that he or she is not naturally funny. I do like jokes that are timely, relevant, sincere, and spontaneous. Unlike most straight girls (and maybe most people as well?), I just don't prioritize humor on the list of qualities I look for in a mate. However, insight, which is sometimes accompanied by humor, is high on my list.

This article is really interesting:

"Women choose men who produce humour 62 per cent of the time; conversely, men choose women who appreciate their humour 65 per cent of the time."

"When it comes to friendships, men like to be around women who produce humour; when it comes to sexual relationships, they only dig women who laugh at their jokes."

<a href="http://www.canada.com/topics/lifestyle/relationships/story.html?id=4996efd7-ead1-4769-beb6-c78b75d714be&k=52599%5B/url%5D">http://www.canada.com/topics/lifestyle/relationships/story.html?id=4996efd7-ead1-4769-beb6-c78b75d714be&k=52599</a></p>

I don't understand why women are attracted to men who make them laugh. However, I could understand why men would be attracted to women who laugh at their jokes.

"But he cannot become her crying shoulder, either! That's even worse!"

Dude the crying shoulder couldn't be better if you play it right. As Chris Rock would say it pretty much makes you a "d!ck in a glass case"...in case of emergency, break glass, it's not a bad place to be.

'tisthetruth: You dont? Hmm, it's pretty simple really.

Girls like to have fun (as the song goes, I suppose). If you can make them laugh (thus them having fun) why shouldn't she like you?

Everything I've said in this thread goes against everything any guy has ever been taught. You've watched TV, and it's always telling you to be the "nice guy". Basically, kiss her butt and hope she likes you. Nadda, doesn't work like that.

Girls deny this, guys don't understand it; but when it comes down to it, it works, no doubt.

If you don't believe me, go out to any bar or club and watch how all the guys that have women hoarding around them act. You'll be pleasently surprised at what you see.

Cheers,
Alex

PS1: I agree with barfdog, even though I've never tried it, most of my friends got their significant other this way.

PS2: Before anyone accuses me of "degrading women" I assure you I'm not. If anyone reads my advice and takes it to mean "be mean to a girl and she will like you" read it again, that's not what I meant.

Wow, Meza. You just blew your chances. Never talk to a girl about personal matters online or on phone even. You should have faced her in person. She thinks you are even more of a wuss than you are.

You should have kept your feelings to yourself.
