Girl State Interviews

What are some interview questions they asked? I have one in a few days and I need to prepare!!

That moment when you don’t even remember what they asked you…

just research their website and make sure you know about their programs

I got a few, but I need more!

I’m so nervous!

I wish I could be of help, but our “interview” was basically the Legion ladies reading us a packet of information about Girls State and judging who was the most attentive. It was a long packet.

Good luck; Girls State was a great experience for me and hopefully you’ll get to go!

Buhhhhlooooop.

:(

Sorry cant help you with questions but do most states do interviews? I just kind of signed up and they said I was in because I’m the only one in the last 7 years at my school to want to do it… Should I be expecting an interview?! I hope not…!

Ditto with what iluv said. They explained what Girls State was about and they give you a long paper full of questions as your interview. Can’t remember what the questions were, though.

How was the interview? Is it like the committee sits in front of you blaring at you? Or do they look nice?

Also for the interview outfit, would flats work?

I’d go on the more conservative side in dress, since it’s the American Legion Auxiliary and the older women can be sort of old-fashioned. Flats should be fine. :)

Well I’m pretty short, and pencil skirts make me look like an old stumpy woman o_o.

Can khaki work?

I wore khakis to my interview and the interviewer didnt seem to mind. It was more of her talking about the college, with her asking me a few questions in between

They asked if I could hold any office, what would it be?, What patriotism/ veo g an american means to me (or something like that), future plans for career/ college maybe about some of your extracurriculars on the app. You aslo have to be able to pledge to the flag, and they’ll ask if you can. Just relax, and try to connect to the interviewer, they really are nice people who love to see passionate teens.

Also, as for clothes, I was dressy-casual and felt appropriate (skirt and nice shirt).
