I am a girl, and when I visited I loved Butler. There is however one thing that I absolutely didn’t like, the male to female ratio. Being 60:40, I was wondering if it was fairly obvious that the school is mostly girls, and how that affects the atmosphere of the school.

If you look at the male to female ratio at most coed schools—it is similar. What I typically see is for every 100 students, 43 are men, and 57 are women. Plain and simple fact is that more women then men go to college.

I honestly cannot tell the ratio when I’m on campus. I never feel like I’m swimming in a sea of girls.

The gender ratio is something that has to affect how a girl acts at college (afterall you go to college for an education, right?) However, this is one of the college aspects that sociologists are interested in and there is some data on the subject ([BARE MARKET: Campus Sex Ratios, Romantic Relationships, and Sexual Behavior](BARE MARKET: Campus Sex Ratios, Romantic Relationships, and Sexual Behavior - PMC))
