iwantyale: I am curious (in particular because of your screen name) to know why you would apply ED anywhere if you are not absolutely sure of where you want to end up.

Barnard and Cornell represent two very different environments and two very different educational experiences…if you are not sure at this point which of those two you want to attend, you should not apply ED to either one. That is only my opinion, of course! Best to you!

Hey guys, just a quick question. On the site it says “Students applying Early Decision should take all required examinations by November.” This means you can’t rush scores, right?

Hey guys! I’m applying ED as well! Kind of nerve-wracking seeing as I haven’t started the essays…the writer’s block is numbing. I’m also concerned about my lower GPA, but am hoping that a winning combination of test scores, enthusiasm, and sheer luck will get me a spot in the Class of 2015 :-)

Hey guys! I’m definitely applying ED. I was just wondering…how long are everyone’s supplemental essays? For the first question I’ve written two well developed paragraphs…I’m not sure if this is too much or not enough or a good amount. Eek!

I applied ED too! But my main concern as of now is the tuition fees. =[ And I’m an international student. Anyway, when will the admission decision made know to us?

Hey guys! Just decided on ED (well, I’ve been mulling it over for a WHILE now). I keep looking up Barnard pictures and looking at the calender of events online. Super pumped! @hannahb, mine vary but most are between 500-900 words (I have a lot to say, editing will be happening!) @NellieT, they’ll let us know by December 15th. I’ll be counting down the seconds!

My common app essay is exactly 508 words. My longest supplement essay is 220 words, the rest are between 150 - 200.
I seriously wish they could just tell send us an email and tell us what day/time it will be because I know that I’ll be walking down to my mailbox everyday in December looking for it haha.
When are you guys submitting your applications? Mines about ready to go, just have to wait to send scores, transcripts, etc

My transcripts are sent, and my scores I believe. I’m not quite finished the supplement questions - stuck on the one about community. Also I’m recording a music supplement next week that I plan to send along. I’m so scared it’s unbelievable…I’ve never wanted anything this much.

Hey ladies!
I’m applying ED, hoping to send in my application by the end of this week. Stuck on the “Which woman would you converse with” supplement…How is everyone else doing!

I’m definitely struggling with the “which woman would you converse with” question. As I’ve been trying to write it I’ve discovered that all the people I idolize are men…kind of disappointing.

So random question, since I think it’d be fun if we got to know each other better (we’re in this for the long haul, after all): I don’t know about you guys, but as I’ve been writing the essays, I’ve found myself listening to the same songs over and over. What are your college essay anthems?

Mine are Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve), I’ll Make a Man Out of You (yes, Mulan), and Tiny Dancer (Elton John)…not exactly sure what that says about me…

Ugh. I’m still mucking through my common app essay. I know, I know, totally unfathomable to some of you prepared people. Serves me right for not doing anything this summer. Well, good luck to everyone applying.
shmeepo- Haha, Mulan, love that song. I can’t listen to music while I’m reading or writing, I get too focused on lyrics. I like OSTs though. I have Inception’s playing right now. :)

I am applying ED but as of now my only essay completed is the common app. These supplemental essays are killing me ( I hate writing), but Barnard is worth it.

hi guys! i applied ED on friday and i’m SO excited. i think i have a great chance, and i’m sure many of you ladies do too. i’m trying to stay positive…i don’t know how i’ll make it until december 15th though!
