Grats nells!
I just submitted three hours ago. Started the supplements on saturday. That’s what I get for procrastinating…
But anyway, good luck to all of us! :)

Haha, love your name iwantbarnard.

I applied Sunday and finished everything up (making sure my parents signed the form, making sure my counselor got everything in, making sure my recs were present and accounted for, pressed the button on all my apps) on Monday. Now… we wait.

…

Do you guys know if we get notification online or by mail? Is there any chance that we get notification early? Or even late?

In the past only international students have gotten online notification via e-mail. All others get an express mail envelope (acceptance) or the dreaded small envelope via snail mail.

I just applied to Barnard early. I’m so excited/nervous!

We find out in less than a month!!!

So I know we’re supposed to get the letter by December 15, but since I’m a creeper with way too much free time I read the thread from last year and they all got their letters on the 14th.
Does anyone know if they traditionally mail out the letters the Friday before or something?

I know that I’d appreciate that. I can’t stand the thought of waiting, UKNO?

when you click on the barnard admissions link to track your application, is it complete?
I sent my supplement in before I sent my common app and it shows my common app as having been received and my supplement is blank. anyone else waiting for their components to show up?

wallystan- it’s not complete. I think Barnard even says not to worry if some materials aren’t lsited yet.
Hmmm, did you send electronically or by mail?
Barnard said it received my supplement and common app… but my HS transcript and counselor recommendation letter hasn’t shown up yet.

can’t believe it’s only the 21st, I’m just dying, waiting. ;___;

Hey! Can you girls tell me when you received your password to track your application? It seems they never sent me an email. They say that two weeks after applying, I would have a password. It has been only one week (but it feels like it’s been a century!!!). Should I email admissions or wait it out?

I got my password 6 days after submitting my common app. Maybe wait a couple extra days then email the office.
We find out 3 weeks from today!!!

On the application tracking page, has Barnard received anyone’s SAT I and II scores? I sent mine in October… but since the collegeboard site is kind of disorganized I really don’t know if the scores were successfully sent or not. :/

i sent my acts on october 26 and barnard still hasn’t received them. i called them and was assured that everything was fine. call collegeboard to double check!

I have the same problem with both SATs and ACTs, both sent (evening of) 11/15. College board says they were sent 11/19 but Barnard’s tracking still shows neither.

Aaaah stressful.

i applied ed but bc still has not received my ed signature, transcript and counselor rec. i hope they have it and are just slow at processing! i love barnard and think it is the perfect place for me, hope to see you all next fall!

I have that issue with Counselor rec, too!

My counselor did not do his component on the ED signature until I followed up with him today (!) - you should check to make sure that isn’t your problem :).

Also, my counselor letter is not marked as received but common app says my counselor did everything. If it still says that once his ED signature is in I will contact Barnard.

Did Barnard ask you about midterm grades? My school doesn’t report quarter grades and obviously semester grades aren’t out yet. But they emailed me asking for them. I checked with my counselor and he said to tell them that we don’t report grades until the semester, so hopefully that is enough. I’m a bit worried about that, though. Did you guys report quarter (or trimester or quint or whatever) grades?

Thanks Raspberi and iwantbanard. Already went to ask my guidance counselor. I guess the admissions office is just a little backlogged or something.
Raspberi- no, I didn’t get asked about grades. Barnard so far only has my grades up to junior year, I think.
Where does college board say it sent scores? I’m so bad at navigating that site…

justwanttogetin1- yeah, good luck to all of us! now to actually do my other apps… T___T

Ugh the collegeboard site is the WORST, and the scores sent thing is hard to find. It’s hidden on the “My SAT scores” page (the one that shows your scores from all your tests), near the bottom of the column on the right. Click on “my score send history” - it says the date sent under the college name.

@raspberi - I think its a good sign if they ask for your mid-semester grades. It means they are actually looking at your app and very seriously considering it. And don’t panic too much about late ED forms by the counselor. My counselor missed it by a couple of days as well (due to a clerical error at my school) and Barnard said it was fine. Good luck to everyone with ED.

would it be a bad sign if they haven’t asked me for quarter grades then? Oy. I am freaking out. This waiting game is merciless.

They haven’t asked for mine either. I look at it this way - if they don’t ask it means one of three things: 1) your on the top of the pile and they don’t need to look, 2) your on the bottom of the pile and they don’t need to look, or 3) they haven’t gotten to your file yet. Then again - its just a guess.
