I’d be glad to get into any of the four. I hope the fact that I don’t have straight A’s(A’s and B’s in courses) affect it too much since I’m already going to a boarding school

A friend of mine’s sister went to Miss Porters and loves it. You are allowed to go off campus for study halls and free periods.

Good luck!!

My daughter started at Emma Willard as a sophmore in the fall of 2013 and had a great experience that continues this fall. Her freshman high school grades were simialr to what you describe. I am surprised by your comment that they only accept 4 to 5 new sophmores and would specifically ask the school if you haven’t already.

I am a fan of Miss Porters my daughter attended as a boarder. MPS is an excellent school and she got in to many great colleges and is attending an Ivy. It is a warm and supportive community with a great faculty.

Miss Porter’s seems absolutely lovely and is definitely the best-of-the-best, based on rankings. Another great school (and a bit of a hidden gem!) is Dana Hall, which has been previously mentioned on here. It’s a really nice school, with a smaller fraction of boarders, but not enough to feel isolated. Overall, good luck! :)

Please keep in mind … the “best” is what’s best for you. The right fit is different for everyone… The culture is a little bit different at each school. Visit the ones you are interested in to determine which ones fit you best.

Just saw this article about a large ($40M!) gift to Foxcroft:

Even though I attended a different school, I can relate to this…a great description of the all-girls (well, really, any) boarding experience:
