Is anyone going to Illini Girls State?
anyone in the future reading this: go to girls/boys state! I got a pretty big position (speaker of the house) and met a ton of great people! A ton of college applications already list Girls/Boys State as an honor, so I’d really recommend doing it.
I loved Girls State! Aside from the obvious educational benefits, I met one of my lifelong friends there. And we still sing the song from time to time. 
It’s a great program! My daughter went to Girls State in California last summer and then returned this year as a junior counselor. I can’t say enough good things about the program.
