Girls chase 'nerdy' guys?

on second thought, this topic was discussed enough last night.

nerdy girls do....

actually it depends what kind of "nerd" you are. if you're the snorting, high-water wearing, starwars obssesed nerd...then no. if you're the smart, intellectual, individual, cute in a dorky way nerd...then maybe yes.

I'm more comfortable around nerdy/dorky guys. They're fun.

More comfortable sounds like the extreme copout. Does being "more comfortable around them" mean that you would date/marry them? More than likely not, as alot of women marry men who beat them or mistreat them, thinking they can "change" the abuser/idiot. This is why I feel no remorse for women who get divorced.

Why is this thread in two places?!?

HiWei: Where is the other thread? I couldn't find it!

I think its gone, but I could almost swear it was in SAT/ACT

Yeah, it was in the SAT/ACT, but I guess the mods deleted it (and rightly so, due to its improper location). Since that thread was delted, I decided to start this one....

Call me crazy, but I doubt that most wife-beaters are classically "nerdy"

joev wasnt insinuating that, although joev's post about wife-beaters has little to do with the topic at hand.

and speaking of the topic at hand, it really has to do with the woman's tastes. men have these tastes too. for example, i tend to like bubbly, independent, intelligent asian women. alot of men dont.

Well it depends on how you define nerdy. I like a guy who's tall and I will never date a guy shorter than me. You also have to look into the cultural aspect. I'm asian and I have many asian friends (some who have dated nerdy asian guys) that won't date guys outside of their culture. However I'm the exception to this because I'm not attracted to asian guys. Concerning personality he can be kind of nerdy but he has to be independent and opinionated (not in an obnoxious way). If not then our personalities would clash.

"independent and opinionated "

as for me, I will date girls who dont have abrasive or ditsy personalities.

I've only met one girl with whom I've been able to have the full gamut of conversation on from religion politics history high school life gossip etc etc etc. hopefully there will be more like that in college

well, some have a erudite appeal and who knows, all kinds of girls exist... ;)

opinionated and outspoken, definitely. the shy ones dont turn me on. (although theyre definitely easier to get with :/ )

This is my last reply for tonight and I'm off to bed :). Sempitern555 I agree with you. All my friends are into mainstream things like boys, fashion, mtv, etc. Most of the guys in my class are intelligent but they are close minded thinking that they're always right. It's one of the most annoying things. I'm hoping that in college I'll meet people who are not only knowledgeable about worldly affairs but are also open minded and respectful.

I seem to go for the guys who were in my Computer Network Administration class...and right now, my boyfriend has a website where he does some coding and server management. Seems like I go for the computer nerds like myself.

Yes! I have a soft spot for those kind of nerds!
And I go for 'rebellish' guys too..

But I don't feel the 'connection' between people whom I talk to ALL the time and people who I know very well (like best friends).

Guys that turn me off-
up-himself guys: "I'm so good at everything and I'm so hot and sexy"
guys-that-try-to-impress-people: "I was so stoned the other day and nearly got caught by the cops and im such a bad ass"

Do you have something against starwars? I'm a SW fan! Don't belittle Star wars.
Btw - what's high water?

ya i love starwars too and i am no where a nerd.....

maybe coqui meant the cumulative effect of all the things, not juz liking sw... :)

haha. sorry about the star wars comment. didnt mean to offend anyone. neha1 is right. its just that stereotypically people associate sw fans with nerdiness. but i know not all star wars fans are "nerds", but you gotta admit a lot of them are too. and i did specify "obsessed" fans, such as those that think sw is possibly real or something.

and highwaters are pants that are...uhh...high and are unatractively above your ankles. basically they look to small for you.

NoFX, I agree with you too.
