I know dorms at all schools are different, but can any girls here share how they decorate their dorm?
Can you also mention good stores or websites for cool bedding and decor for the room?
What is cool room decor like? Anything sort of tumblr like? Good themes/colors for room?
There are tons of examples on the web to look at. My daughter’s dorm room isn’t coordinated in anyway–there are four girls in one room, it’s a bit crowded, they all have their own photo displays. My daughter found a lot of nice bedding in the sale section of Pottery Barn Teen last year. I guess the sky is the limit on what you could do though.

Posters: your school may have a poster sale on campus in the first week or so.
Corkboard: I hung one on my wall and find it handy.
Bedding: We got a set in my favorite color from Target or Bed Bath & Beyond or some place like that. You might like one of those big reading pillows with arms, as the seating options in your room may be restricted to a) your bed and b) your desk.
Desk: I got a rolling desk chair to replace the standard wooden one. It’s a lot comfier.
Door: I hang a whiteboard and marker on the outside of mine. For the inside you might want a mirror, if one isn’t provided.
I am not artistic at ALL but I was super excited to decorate my dorm room! It doesn’t look nearly as cool as all the Pinterest photos do, but with more decorating talent than I have, you could probably come pretty close. My favorite decorations in my room are Christmas lights hung up around my wall (last year I used purple lights and this year I’m using white lights; each gives off a very different vibe) and polaroids of my friends and I hung up on strings with clothespins.
If you get Xmas light, only get LED type. They may not let you use the other kind.
