I have a half dozen young women on my gift list, but am not sure what the most-desired item from Tiffany is these days. Do people still like the silver heart? What about the initial pendant? Pearl studs? Or is that too Junior League-ish?

Or something totally different? I know everyone likes cash, but I like the idea of giving something that will still be around in five or ten years...

And while we're at it, what on earth do we give the guys???

I personally love the initial pendants; I have one (not from Tiffany's) that I wore every day until the clasp stopped working. It's classy and personal.

you might want to make sure the girls even want expensive jewellery. personally, i hate the idea of wasting a couple of hundred bucks on a plain looking trinket, especially when i could buy something identical (from a distance) for five bucks from claires. but many of friends go gaga over tiffany's. it all depends, just make sure the recipient wants the gift.

And I love love it because EVERYONE has those chain bracelets.

Oh, and pish. You can't compare Tiffany to Claire's. It holds an entirely different value. I think a gift from Tiffany's would be something nice for a grad gift, it would be something that could be treasured for a long time. Or if not treasured now, saved and liked later on. shrug

Hm, if you are set on it, I'd go for open heart bracelets but I honestly don't like something everyone else has, and God forbid anything that says "T & Co." on it (I think that was their 1837 line).

What I really want for a grad gift are those really cute (thus, expensive) dorm accessories. But I wouldn't mind something Tiff either. ;)

I like the initial pendant too...
I think the simpler things are classier- like the classic heart, or the starfish...I'm thinking about getting the noughet; it's just a little ball, but it's definitely more versatile than big clunky dog-collar-esque chains.

You're right -- I do not have sextuplets, and getting ring sizes would be tough, although those ring links are pretty darned cute.

Blazer buttons??? looks clueless Zante -- neither DizzyHusband nor I are Ivy League graduates. Help me out here. This takes us to another subject -- what kind of wardrobe should DizzysSon bring to Princeton? I will not even tell you what he wears day-to-day, other than to remind you that he's a metalhead...

I know rings are an iffy idea because you need to measure sizes like someone said (i know first-hand since I've got to help organize graduation rings this week), but this mesh one is really nice:
