Girls: Preferred graduation gift from Tiffany catalogue

i'm sorry prettyfish, but that is totally true.

;):p

dizzymom, for a graduation gift, I'm sure your girls will agree that tradition > fad. Plus, pearls are different; I have a box full of silver/gold pendants, necklaces, bracelets, most with little gems. All of them are pretty, but I couldn't give you the names of the people who gave half of them to me. Pearls also have that sentimental symbolic thing going --> thumbs up.

Woooh your son is a lucky kid : ). I think when I leave, my parents will leave me with "ok [name] if you get pregnant do drugs or flunk out i kill you for sure - got?" :D:D

(disclaimer: before anyone thinks i've gone angsty, i'm just joking. Asian parents just aren't particularly expressive but I know they'd give me the world + everything they own if I ever needed it)

Mea,

The more things change, apparently, the more they stay the same.

When I graduated high school in 1971, my parents gave me no gift. And when I left for college in the fall, my mother's parting words were "I'd rather have you get pregnant than to smoke marijuana."

I thought that was such an incredibly weird thing to say then, and it still sounds pretty weird now!

Hmm I think I'd rather have my children smoke marijuana than get pregnant...

but anyway,
I LOVE the pearls! They are so classy. After that, I like the starfish and initial pendants.

Your son is lucky, a new car?! ahhh

hahaha, oh no dizzymom. That is totally weird. Talk about setting priorities straight -- "Choose one: get pregnant, smoke marijuana, flunk out."

Well, I did it!

I got S's gf the three-strand pearl bracelet, and I got the other girl the silver bracelet with the sun, moon and star charms (I think that one might be new -- they seem to have added a few things to the website)

I also got a couple of favorite teachers the apple pendant.

Racked up a bit of a Tiffany bill -- yikes! :o

Yeah, we got S a car -- a new 4-runner. He would never ask for it; he's virtually un-spoilable, which made it all the more fun to give him. He was so suprised!!! But he can't take it freshman year, right?

you are sweet, dizzymom : )!! They'll love their gifts for sure.
