Girl's State??

So i just found out i got nominated for girl state but i don't really know what it is all about. so has any ever been or know any info about it? Also i was planning on volunteering at a hospital over that summer b/c im really interest in the medical field but if i go to girl state i cannot volunteer. so i just wanted to get some info about girl state before i make my decision.

Im sure u should be able to volunteer at the hospital if u explain the situation. ITs an honor to be selected for girls state ( im going this year as well) and if u explain it to your volunteer coordinator she will more than impressed and thrilled.

Go to both!

Hey thank you very much! Well the reason i was worried that i wouldn’t be able to volunteer was orientation week for the volunteering was the same week for girls state. my volunteer director told me i had to be there for orientation, but i let her know my situation and hopefully she will understand.

Did you know that President Clinton went to Boys State, and was selected to go to Boys Nation where he met President Kennedy? I went to Girls State back in 1975, and even back then it was a big deal. You can always volunteer, but don’t pass up this opportunity.

I am going to Girls State this year. I was worried when the next day I got accepted for my Bank of America internship too. I get back from GS then the next day start working. But my coordinator was really nice and said even if I couldn’t make it the first day or two it wouldn’t be a problem. I’m sure the volunteer coordinator will understand.

Good luck and have fun!

I highly recommend going to Girls State. I went last summer and had the most amazing time of my life. They teach you about city, county, and state government and you get to act it all out XD. Plus you get to act stupid with 200 other girls your age. You won’t regret it if you do.

GO GO GO!
i wanted to go so bad this year but my school apparently was not registered and able to nominate :frowning:
i was superbummed.
you won’t regret it. i’ve only heard the best things.
