Girls these days

Bleedblue-

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about, and you should calm down with the periods.

TomJones-

“i like how people started quoting from a fiction novel.”

Right on.

All the guys here are so sexist and so obviously not joking. It’s sad really, right blairb?

The Bible is truth, and those who deny it do themselves an egregious disfavor. Every word is without error. Stand up and believe!

i like how you started going on a ■■■■■■■■ spree.

I think it’s the exact opposite. Think of how many handsome, outgoing guys are dating ugly or overweight girls? Then think of how many hot girls you know are dating people who aren’t necessarily considered popular, tough, etc? Amongst my friends, the latter scenario is weigh more prominent.

Oddly enough, it seems like many guys I know are very superficial and will only date attractive girls, even if they aren’t really attractive themselves. Many girls seem more willing to look deeper. This is a generalization of course but this is the way I perceive it.

Sorry, but if I plan on going to college I need to think!

First of all, before you call the Bible fiction, please be informed because it can be proven in many ways, and if you doubt it at all, please read the book of Revelations (that would be the last book, yes, the one alll the way at the end) and then watch the news. It talks about a one world government and a universal currency. Sound familiar?

Although I do view the Bible as 100% truth, Jamesford’s quote from 1 Corinthians is in the old testament and was in reference to the law; however, the New Testament freed us from the law, so although the Bible does say that women should submit to their husbands, it by no means views them as inferior.

It is sad that the cannons in the new testaments are so…anti-female. If you look at other religious texts that were omitted from the cannon, a major reasons were that they favor female.

So in short, we are basing off texts…that are inherently unequal.

I really don’t think there are anything wrong with…being equal. Heck, if she’s smarter than me on physics…so be it.

(I am a guy btw)

Women saying they want equality is false. Women want to be treated like women, with the economic rights of men. If I fight with all my guy friends (for fun) h, does it make sense for me to hit a girl. No, it is not in the culture of the US. Most gender traits are cultural, not inherited by birth.

Women have an advantage over men in certain aspects.
Sex Appeal is a huge advantage. What can a man do to get out of a ticket or get a promotion?

Men also have their advantages, such as physical strength. Physical strength no longer plays a large role in our society like it did in the past. So this advantage, is very limited.

Women can get the same jobs with the same pay, and even get better jobs with better pay using sex appeal. Although there is some discrimination, women have an advantage over men in day to day life in modern US society. Not in low income communities or rural areas, but in Modern US cities and suburbs.

I will explain if you reply, with a good reason

i’ve given up on the female sex. they’re so doodoo

Excellent point klearr. One thing you are forgetting i how societal expectations can be a limiting power. There’s still a stereotype when it comes to women and science.

There are no cannons in the bible, only canon.

Yes social expectations has its positives and negatives. This is a very touchy topic, so I try to use my logic instead of my opinion.
Also, I am a believer in the Bible and Jesus, but it is futile to use something as a true source that not everyone believes.

It is by nature and the majority of culture that man rule over woman, although some cultures view otherwise.

wf is this thread. tomjones stu.

I’m a strong Christian, meaning I read the Bible and have a relationship with God. I don’t tell/believe that all “nonbelievers” are going to hell and all that belongs to the Christian stereotype. The passage in 1 Corinthians must be looked at in the frame of that time period. Women were inferior to men during Biblical times and for a long while after. The advice Paul gave to the church of Corinth regarding women was to represent Christ in a matter that would be taken seriously. If women at that time were to act out of their position, rebelling against their husbands while screaming the gospel at everyone, no one would listen. Now, however, this is not the case. Women have reached social equality with men, therefore it is perfectly acceptable for women and men alike to be successful individuals and do as they believe.

I hope I made that easier to understand. To be honest, I sort of find all the comments against Christians and the Bible to be slightly offensive. I probably shouldn’t, but it is relevant to my personal faith.

And, just for the record, 1 Corinthians is in the New Testament.

lulz @ some of the responses in this thread

Yea, it is in the New Testament, my bad. When I first read it I thought it was 1 Chronicles. Sorry. And I definitely agree with Reya Lovely. It was a different time period.

Women are mostly self-entitled little pieces of ****.

Haha, it’s all good, aaron3109. And thanks for the support! :)

This thread is pretty much ridiculous and sexist. Someone should shut it down already.

Whoever made that comment about women getting better jobs because of “sex appeal…” hah. That just demonstrates how sexist people are because they value women more for appearance than what really matters. And it’s not even true that women have better jobs because of sex appeal, unless you think prostitution and such is better.

Ok, so some people in here don’t believe in the Bible. Okay then. It is still incorrect to call it fiction. There is historical basis for some of it. Historians do not deny the existence of many of the events and people in the Bible.

Whatever - I’m not going to try and pick through the posts and determine who is being stupid, who is being sarcastic, and who is being sincere.
