GIRLS: What is the shortest guy you would date?

5’7" isn’t average in any country? uhhhh…

^ yeah, thats pretty close to the range i gave… but personlly, i think calling someone short is harsh, and only men below 5’6’’ “deserve” that lol

^ im pretty sure SOME (if not all) asian country has 5’7’’ in thier average

" ~thats why i don’t feel bad for girls turning anorexic because men pressure women to look a specific way… because girls do it all the time! "

I agree. Women’s expectations cause men to be anorexics too and some to devote their lives to working out.

Ayoub besides Vietnam the average height in most asian countries is around 5’8".

No one deserves to be called short. At least not in a demeaning way. But short is a fact of life. You can’t have tall people without short people. I honestly think that people care way too much about their height, though. You know that the western world is ****** when the most that people can worry about is how tall they are.

I never once thought about my height until my first year of University once I started browsing forums and kept reading threads about people my height being insecure about it.

ok collegehopeful, but you’re neglecting the south american countries, mexico, etc. many of which have average heights around 5’7". Places like Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and many more that are all below 5’7".

The major asian countries (China, India, South Korea, Japan) hover around 5’8". The population in these countries is so much more than the countries you named.

hey russell, what nationality r u?

Sorry man, didn’t realize that they weren’t considered countries if they don’t have populations over 100 million. Or did you forget what you said?

5’7" is not the average in any country

and these are the averages that I have for some of those countries, including populations.

Cameroon 171.0 cm 16,063,678
Indonesia 170.0 cm 238,452,952
China 169.7 cm 1,298,847,624
Pakistan 169.3 cm 159,196,336
Japan 168.3 cm 127,333,002
Mongolia 168.0 cm 2,751,314
India 167.6 cm 1,065,070,607
Italy 165.6 cm 58,057,477
Philippines 165.0 cm 86,241,697
Korea, North 164.9 cm 22,697,553
Malaysia 163.5 cm 23,522,482
Vietnam 162.5 cm 82,689,518
Singapore 162.2 cm 4,353,893

i would date a guy of any height really, but i think it would be very hard to find a guy shorter thatn me lol!!

i’m 18 and just a tad over 5 ft.

but i have a thing for really tall guys… all the guys i’ve ever dated were at least 6 feet!

Sigh, Western world again? I read an article that in some Asian countries you have to pass a height test to work in the post office. I think a lot of people are worried about height, or at least a lot of males are. Women are worried about different appearance-related things.

My boyfriend says, “only short people care about height.” lol

yeah, and in some Japanese universities, you have to take golf lessons to get a business degree. The culture there is weird.

Sigh all you want, but when you see people crying about being 5’8" on a message board as many times as I have, it gets to be a sad sight.

And your boyfriend’s wrong. I know some tall women that are insecure about their height.

It’s only short MEN who are insecure about their height. “Short” women don’t give a squat unless they’re reeeeeeally short (like below 4’10"), because that’s just the normal range of women’s heights. Tall women will often be insecure about their height. I was really insecure about being taller than alot of guys when I was in high school (and I was an inch shorter than I am now) but now I’m over it. I like being tall. I never have to ask people to get things off top shelves (people usually ask me), and I never get lost in the crowd, and I don’t ever have to do that squat thing that short people do in pictures to make room for the slightly taller but still short people behind them. I just peer right over everyone by standing in the back, lol.
I think there are just alot of short women where I live. I do often tower over people. Or maybe I am just a giant… whatever. Most of my friends are around my height or taller. I guess we stick out in a crowd.

My boyfriend’s definition of short is anyone shorter than him, which is pretty much everyone considering he is 6’3"/6’4". Needless to say that he thinks my 5’7" is “midget” status. Apparently by the age of 14 he was already taller than me and then he had a huge growth spurt at 16.
