girls who are slobs

What would you consider being scrubby? Somebody who never wears make-up, doesn't spend lots of time doing their hair, and the usual oufit is jeans and a sweatshirt?

Do you care if someone looks like a slob (ie, wouldn't want to hang out with them/ date them, etc.)? I'm not talking about being unwashed or anything, just doesn't spend much time on appearance.

Someone who:

1) Wears a skirt or dress without pantyhose
2) Has tattoos, especially large or visible ones
3) Wears baggy jeans or t-shirts
4) Wears mens’ clothing

i like how, in the OP’s definition, a girl who is a “slob” is one who puts the same amount of effort into her appearance as the typical boy

^ It’s not my “definition”, I was wondering if you guys would consider that as being scrubby…because that is how I dress.
but yeah, you can’t deny there are double standards for girls versus guys…

and then I was wondering if someone who is a really scrubby, as in leaira’s definition, would affect your social relationship or not.

^^^ That is the most severe modern definition of a shabbily dressed girl I have ever seen.

Do that many girls really wear make up on a daily basis? I put tons of time into my appearance, wear jewelry on the daily, etc. but I only wear make up for performances and school dances.

I agree with Millancad. If it’s summer and it’s hot outside, I don’t know of any girl who is going to wear pantyhose with a skirt/dress.

I mean, think about summer dresses – you see loads of non-shabby girls wearing those without pantyhose!

Well, I was brought up with the standard that if I wear a skirt or dress, I was to wear nylons. There’s no reason for girls not to follow that standard today. The only reason they don’t is that pantyhose companies never advertise their products anymore like they used to.

Hmm, what about this, sweetie…they don’t want to? gasp/zomg

Girls usually look better without make-up anyway.

But what is there about bare legs that makes them less attractive?

And you’re only in your early twenties; that isn’t much different than the majority of people posting in College Discussion.

Most of my female friends look much better without makeup. One whom I have a particular affection for hardly ever wears makeup except for special occasions and she’s smoking hot.

I don’t think I would be attracted to someone who’s like that, but it’s not like I wouldn’t be friends with them. The issue with me is the women who wear those tight, short, denim skirts. I find that it makes women look trashy and promiscuous, but that’s just my opinion.

I would say that they’d be a slob if they don’t bother wearing a bra (one of my pet peeves).

^^ Very true

Where do you live? Are you from the Midwest or the South?

I’m just about to buy a house in Tennessee. I live in Florida in an apartment for the next week or so, until I close on my house in Tennessee. I’m paying cash, so the closing shouldn’t take that long. They just accepted my offer last week. But I’m originally from Michigan. I moved to Florida because I couldn’t stand the cold weather in Michigan.

maybe nylons aren’t necessary in warmer weather ;]

I always wear them to church or to any occasion that calls for people to dress-up.

well, yes, to church; i agree with you there

but what about just wearing a skirt to school in warm weather?

Maybe a casual skirt is OK, but some skirts are more dressy and meant to be worn with nylons.
