Why is Leaira in HS Life? o_o

Is it considered scrubby if you wear sweatpants (the black, sports warm-up kind) to school sometimes?
What if your clothes are a bit wrinkled (not from multiple wears, but because you were too lazy to iron them)
Just trying to figure out what the standards are.

Wow, really? Nylons? I’ve never even heard about that!! With business wear, of course, but with almost all dresses and skirts??? I’ve truly never heard that, ever.

Nylons are to be worn with business attire and that is all in my book. o.O

ETA: chocobok: idgf if you clothes are a bit wrinkly or if you wear sweats. really. i don’t understand why people would care.

Wow, I don’t own nylons. Apparently I’m a slob?

I don’t really think it’s slobby to wear sweatshirts a lot, but I think sweatpants make it look like you just rolled out of bed or something. They’re fine on occasion (especially during finals week) but not every day.

To me, too lazy to iron = slobby.
If you wear sweatpants maybe once a year, that’s okay. Sweatshirts are okay as jackets, but as your main shirt unless you’re sick.

My sister has crazy standards. She irons every piece of clothing she wears. Jeans, t-shirts, everything.

Eh? Is that even necessary for a whole category of clothing?

I mean, I find that, if you fold your t-shirts they come out as wrinkle free as if you were to iron them.

:

my sister does it too. She’s one of those people who wakes up a 5:00 just to do her hair, pick out her outfit and iron it, apply make-up and do whatever else…she always calls me scrubby, just because I roll out of bed, run the brush through my hair quickly, and throw on a pair of jeans and a tee.
and maybe I am…

I decide what I’m going to wear the night before, otherwise I would look awful all the time.

This=/=slob.
Slob=a lazy and slovenly person; a term used to insult a lazy, obese person, LOL.

That’s funny. I’ve always thought of a slob as one who is unruly in dress, behavior, and is overall unpresentable due to negligence of one’s own appearance.

I guess being overweight from overindulgence would fall into that category…

I go to an all girls school, so my standards are very low…in terms of real-life ‘slobs’, I would consider it to be:
-someone who doesn’t shave legs
-someone with unibrow
-someone who wears sweatpants
-someone who doesn’t shower/wash hair regularly enough to smell okay
-someone who doesn’t brush hair/teeth

Personally, I think makeup or no makeup doesn’t constitute slobdom.

Some of these posts in here make me sad. I think the most attractive girl is one who is not afraid to wear little or no makeup, wears whatever they feel most comfortable in (some of the cutest girls I know just wear sweatshirts/shirts/jeans/occasional skirt to school), etc. With regards to hair, many girls can pull off the not spend a lot of time on hair look or look great with naturally messy hair, but it’s difficult for others.

Someone who is severely disorganized and has their crap everywhere makes me think they’re sort of a slob. Physically, someone who just looks greasy/oily in general, wearing noticeably dirty clothes, things like that looks sloppy and gross to me.

And I wear foundation and eyeliner to school, but I can be neatly dressed and ready to leave in 20-30 minutes most mornings.

haha the problem with me is I don’t care. It literally takes me less than 5 minutes to get ready in the morning…But my mom and sister are always at me to dress nicer and fix up my hair better. Not sure if I want to, I kinda used to take pride in not being one of those girl’s who is really fussy about how they look. Now, not so sure, because they got me with the “Presentation is really important” line…
Hence this thread so I can figure out if I would be considered “scrubby”, or if they are just exaggerating.

What’s considered really (or too) long?

Like I’m sure guys take a fraction of that time, but how long is too long for a girl, even in girls’ eyes?

for me, anything longer than 15-20 minutes is too long. One time I did spend 30 min because I was straightening my hair, but otherwise how long can it really take unless you draw it out and fidget with every little thing?

But I would say from 1/2-3/4 of the girls at my school spend an hour getting ready. Doing what, I have no idea.

Too long for just getting ready? I know girls who take 45+ minutes, and to me that’s ridiculous. The 20-30 minutes for me includes getting food and making sure I packed everything I need. I enjoy sleep, efficiency is important.

Sometimes I can take 10-15mins max to get ready. I don’t consider myself to be a slob.

I take a bath in the morning, so I take a long time. But besides the bath, I probably take 20 minutes unless I have to iron.

I don’t think slobbiness can be reduced to a few qualities. It’s more of a general characteristic, and half the time, it comes more from the girl’s personality than her appearance. Just an aura of messiness and carelessness.
