Give a little input for a desperate Asian kid, please....

Here are the stats

GPA-3.896/4.0 unweighted (is this a cause for concern?????), 4.04 weighted (+.5 for AP and post-AP)

ACT-34
SAT II- 800 MathIIC, 800 Chemistry, 780 Biology, 800 Physics
Nat'l Merit Semifinalist

AP Scores

11th-the usual, AP Physics, Humanities semester electives, Multivar Calc/Linear Alg, AP Spanish Lang, some bio/chem semester electives
12th-AP Government,AP English Lang,Numerical analysis/Differential equations, bio and physics semester electives

Extracurrics
Math team 9-12, Co-captain, various awards there, very minimal volunteer work is required here
Science bowl 11-12 captain? state champion
Violin (since 2nd grade) BUT I lack credentials here (should i submit a tape or something?!)
Physics team 11-12 officer, writes calculus lectures for beginners
Biology Olympiad semifinalist 10-12
Various other clubs and stuff that I probably shouldn't talk about (bridge club, computer team, future problem solving....)

Work experience
Internship (without pay) at INOVA Fairfax, independent study (summer 07)

I understand that very little community service will screw me here.

My choices
Princeton
MIT (should I apply early??????)
Stanford
UPenn
Caltech - maybe apply here
Duke
Cornell
UVA

Another thing - since I'm applying to such competitive schools, should I add more to my list in prep for a mass rejection? Interested in operations research or biology/chemistry engineering....

Your stats are very good, but yes, definetly apply to more schools - when you apply to top schools like that you could get rejected for the most random and insignificant reasons, so definetly add some more matches or safeties.

I think you're in at Duke, Cornell, and UVA, but the rest could go either way. Write some good essays, and good luck :P

Ya, some of those schools are crapshoots. #1 ranked kid out of over a 1000 at my school and a 1590 out of 1600 SAT was rejected by MIT, so you never know. I mean you will get into UVA, so if you wouldn't mind going there, you don't really need to apply elsewhere, but a couple more safety schools is always a good idea.
