I'm trying to figure out if I want an LAC experience, or a smaller private university one. I have my heart set on universities, but I'm told that a LAC would offer more support for someone with my educational background. If I were to apply mainly to universities. My list would be:

Does your school offer AP/Honors classes?

No -- I forgot to mention that.

Is there a reason why you aren't applying to UMich? It seems like a match for you, and seeing as how your instate, it probably won't be expensive either.

I like MSU much more than UMich. It's bigger, but has a lot of great residential colleges, whereas UMich only has its Residential College...which isn't too great from what I'm told.

Bumpity-Bump!

If you could raise your ACT to 30+ (as you expect) I think that would enhance your chances greatly. I can't imagine your not having any AP/Honors courses having a significant impact since your school doesn't offer them, although it would have looked good if you took something at a community college or something.

I would have loved to take CC courses but I couldn't.
