I would say that my essay was above average at best, but probably average. I applied for the summer b term (I know it doesn't affect my acceptance chance, I just heard it was more fun). If anyone would take the time to give me their opinion, especially if you have experience with college admissions/UF, it would be greatly appreciated!

Cmon, you have a great chance if you’re in-state! You may even get invited to their honors college! If you’re out of state though, then it may be tougher, but I think you’re a strong candidate nonetheless.

Congratulations on your excellent test SAT scores and you should be offered admissions into the regular freshman summer b class. The only slight problem I noticed is that your weighed GPA of 4.0 may be a hindrance to your acceptance as the average weighed GPA is 4.3. Good Luck

The average SAT score of a UF accepted student is 1300. I have a friend that is a freshman there this year, and he had a 1400, with little else that stood out on his app. If you’re in the 1400 range or higher, you will have no problem getting in.

Thanks. And yea, my GPA is a little low, but I hope that my course load this year will show the University that I am making a great effort to improve it before graduation.

You have NO service hours? You need 40 to graduate right? I’m guessing your school does it a bit differently. Other than that, you have solid credentials. Did you have any leadership positions however? You’re academics are great, you’ve shown you’ve got awesome extracurriculars…solid awards too. All you need is just a leadership position or two, an awesome essay, and to have your app basically make you out to be a leader, unique thinker, innovator, etc. With those, IMO, you got a near shoe-in shot (granted, the “randomness” factor of admissions doesn’t affect you negatively). Without those, I still think you have a good shot. I’m not going to give much advice because it’s pointless given the deadline has passed, but as you are now, I think you have a pretty good chance; I’m not going to say you’re getting in or not getting in for sure. That’s something no one should be telling anyone with these “chance me’s” just solely for the fact that admissions are complex, unpredictable, and again, “random”-ish.
