this is just me guessing i really have no idea. i suggest you don't take anyone's opinion on here TOO seriously. i only joined today, but i've looked at the forums before, and you don't know who is answering your question and how they are qualified, so take the answers (including mine) with a grain of salt.
good luck!

ok thanks! anyone else?

Honestly, I think the person above me is being a little too positive. You have great stats no doubt, but those schools, especially the Ivys are really competitive and reaches for just about anyone. You're GPA is low, but if your illness junior year was very serious and affected you for a long period of time, I think they will be more understandable if you tell them. Also, we have no SAT scores to base this off of. If you get a 2100+ then I think you'd be in good shape for most. Everything else looks great.

yeah I'm taking the ACT in three days and hoping for a 31+. Thank you sak09. Yeah it definitely made me miss 12 days second semester, and a bunch 1st semester also.

By the way, I got a 4 on my AP World Test last year. Just for more info :)

bump please!!

yeah i did poorly on my SAT so im getting ready for the ACT.
anyone else? please?

bumppppppppppp

Princeton - High Reach
Harvard - High Reach
Brown - Reach
UCLA - Low Reach
USC - Low Reach
LMU - Reach
BC - Reach
Georgetown - Reach
USD - Match?
GW - Reach
UVA - Reach for everyone

Really low GPA for those schools. But if you have a killer essay explaining your illness, you might have a shot. Hope you do well on the ACT this weekend. = ]

I'm sorry, but an illness that made you miss 12 days of school in a term is probably not of the magnitude that would explain away a 3.6 throughout high school. I think when schools adjust for illness it's for example when a student who had been straight A got cancer and after treatment resumed straight As.

If I'm to be honest, I would have to say that you need to look at stats of accepted students at schools like Princeton and Brown and see that they would have to make a huge exception to the norm to accept you. It happens, but not too often.

If you get a 31 on the ACT you will be in range for some really good schools, but not ivies.

Also, I've never seen a cox get recruited but maybe they do.

yeah i really love georgetown and ucla so i'd be so happy there.
also coxswains get recruited all the time.

by the way, i had a 3.8 before this year, so it was because of new adjustments and my illness which is not diagnosed yet.

any more??

Well then start calling those coaches, if you're recruited all bets are off. But be careful what you say about being ill, coaches might not want to take the chance.

hahha ohh i have been. ive talked to all of the coaches at those schools,
so we can only see what this summer/fall brings!

You have a very, very wide range of schools there. Princeton? LMU? Interesting

LMU is more safety, and Princeton is obviously a reach.
I just didn't define each one as a reach, match, etc...
