I'll have 75 credits and an associates from a CC with a gpa of 3.5. I'm transferring to baruch. What gpa would I need to get in baruch if i go there for a year to get into nyu cas if it's even possible for me to get into nyu cas after only a year in baruch?

I don’t understand; if you’re transferring into Baruch after 75 credits with an associates from a CC, won’t you be transferring in as a junior? If you are, you can’t transfer. Virtually no institution lets you transfer in as a senior. Unless you’re transferring in as a sophomore, you’re going to graduate from Baruch. You probably should have done more research before you applied, if NYU was where you really wanted to go.

can’t i apply as a junior even if i have a hundred credits?

I think junior status at NYU CAS is less than 100 credits.

yea, but can’t they just not give me credit for courses i took and therefore grant me junior status

Here’s the issue: if you enter Baruch as a Junior, then you can’t apply to NYU as a junior. They won’t let you repeat your junior year if you’ve already done it somewhere else.

No, transfer admissions doesn’t work like that. They can give you credit for whatever courses THEY want. tsaka hit the nail on the head. NYU won’t let you just repeat a year.

aww dang it

nybrian, I go to Baruch and know many transfers. Honestly, most transfers lose a semester to a year of credits. Baruch HATES accepting transfer credits, especially from community colleges. But then again, I know two people who only lost 3-9 credits, which is VERY VERY rare. However, if you have enough credits to be counted as a junior (which is about 50-60 credits), then they will give you junior status. But yeah, if you want to transfer to NYU, apply right now. You still have time. Besides, I think they are much better at accepting transfer credits than BAruch. Baruch is the worst at that.
