Hi everyone. I'm applying to college this year. I am a white female who's an immigrant from Ukraine. I'm a California resident. I came to American when I was seven. My mom gets disability, but I don't know if that would help me. Just wondering... from my list of school,

where do you think i would get in?

Here are my stats:
ACT: overall - 28. Reading - 30. Math - 29. Writing 31. English - 34. Science - 18. Not much of a science person as you can see!
SAT:1850. Critical Reading - 610. Math - 600. Writing - 640.
Subject tests: french with listening: 800. math level 2: 600.
Weighted GPA 3.75
Classes for junior year:
AP Psychology, Precalculus, US History Honors, Regular English, Advanced Drama
Classes for Senior Year: AP Calculus AB, AP English, American Democracy, Physiology, Advanced Drama.
After school activities:
-100+ hours of volunteer work at an elderly home.
-Award from my school for excellence in writing in English. I got this at the end of Junior year and it's pretty amazing because when I came to American I didn't know one word of English and ended up getting an award for excellence in writing!
-Secretary of my school's literary magazine for the third year.
-Co-president of the school's jewish club for the second year.
- Also did a public speaking tournament thing in 10th grade.. called forensics.

I am fluent in French (since age 10), in Russian (since birth), and in English. I have passable Spanish.

I think I did a good job on my essays. Will they be the determining factor?

I took summer classes at UC Berkeley's ATDP every year since I was in the 7th grade. The summer after my freshman year, I took Geometry and got a B+, after sophomore year I took Introduction to Chemistry and got a B, and then after junior year, I took Writing for College and got an A.

I'm applying to:
UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC Los Angeles
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
UC Irvine

You are not the sum total of what you do. What you do is a subtotal of who you are.

Well said ErikD, I agree, at my school plenty of kids with fantastic stats were rejected from elite schools, and some who were considered "less qualified" got in. It really is about whether you come across as "real" to the admissions officers. Be honest, write thoughtful essays, and you will do fine. By the way, your trilingualism (not sure if thats a word :P) is a major asset. Good luck!

by the way, i live in california and i know alot about the UC's
Davis and Santa Cruz shouldnt be too much of a problem.
The rest I cant say exactly (berkeley and LA are almost impossible for a lot of us), they care alot about GPA and test scores. But they dont focus the entire thing on that. Santa Barbara is an awesome school, very nice campus
