give me some answers.....

so when i transfer, i'm going to have to be taking my core major classes, and my major is "law and society"...

but, i still really wish to take some other classes, like philosophy, or maybe another type of class.

what's the rule behind this, when a transfer student wants to take some classes --outside-- of his major

THANKS

Well, I dont know about at other schools, but I am definitely taking classes outside of my major at Berkeley. My major is American Studies. I will be taking American Studies 10, History 121, English 100, and Religious Studies 90. Only the first two are applicable to my major.

If you think youre going to be really interested in this other thing, you might consider a minor or double major.

Other than that, I cant really help without more info.

English100?! Didn't you complete that before transfer? Or does English 100 mean something else at Berkeley?

I'm pretty sure you can take whatever lower-division classes you want after you transfer, your school might have a unit cap or there might be some restrictions on upper-division classes (especially for impacted majors) though.

You're going to UCSB, right? UCSB requires that you take 60 upper division units in order to graduate. Since Law & Society requires 44 units of upper division courses, you'll have to take 16 more units (or 4 classes) of upper division work in Law & Society or other fields.
