Hi everyone! I was wondering, with my stats right now, what are my match schools? I'm looking for an academically focused school, prefably on the East Coast, Virginia and north, but it doesn't have to be. I'm interested in psychology/neuroscience at the moment. I also really like creative writing and would like to take some writing classes in college. I'm currently a high school junior.

GPA uw: 4.0
SAT: 2000 (CR: 750, M: 630, W: 620) I'm retaking this in October. I did no prep before this test. I'm confident in my ability to bring it up 200-250 points, but match me with the current score please.
SAT II: World History: 740 (Just took Literature and US History on the 1st. Will take Bio in November)

Junior schedule:
AP US History
AP Chemistry
AP English Language/Composition
Advanced Composition (advanced writing class)
Precalc w/ Trig HN
Physics HN
Spanish 4

Senior schedule:
AP English Literature/Composition
AP Comparative Government/Politics
AP Calculus BC
AP Biology
AP Spanish Language
AP Human Geography
Advanced Composition 2

Strong EC's-I mostly want a match based on my objective stats right now. I know EC's are a big part but I think they're harder for people to evaluate online.

State:VA
Female,white

Also, chance me for UVA and William & Mary based on my numbers.

There are probably over a hundred schools that would be matches with your credential. You should probably try the SuperMatch at this site first. You may also look at some schools around the top 50.

UVA: Match/High match (depends on the region within Virginia; rural Virginians have better chances than NOVA ones)
William and Mary: Match/High match (see above)

Match-smatch . . can you afford private school, do you need merit aid . . . there’s no point giving you recs unless we know what is practical.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I just started using this website actively recently. Is there a way to move this thread to the correct forum? I will try the Super Match tool.

@Catria NOVA, large mediocre public school. I realize I face some stiff competition from some of the students in this area but my stats are similar to the students who were accepted from my school this year.

@redpoint Upper middle class income bracket. Private school is in the realm of possibility but the school would have to be of equal or higher quality than UVA or William and Mary. I will probably apply to some liberal arts colleges.

With your stats, look at Lehigh, NYU if you want to go urban, GW, Boston University, Boston College, Villanova as they are all in reach. If you do in fact get your SAT score up to a 2150 - 2200~ I urge you to look at Michigan and Hopkins for universities.

You mentioned you were intereseted in LACs. I am from NJ and applied to a number of LACs in PA/NY. Ill give a brief list of how you match up with each.

Lafayette College, Easton PA - low match
Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA - high match
Colgate University, Hamilton NY - high match
Union College, Schenectady NY - safety
Dickinson College, Carlisle PA - safety
Middlebury College, VT - high match
Williams College - high match/reach
Amherst College - reach
Wesleyan University - reach

These schools are more or less the same. Very sttrong liberal arts curriculum, generous FA, good alumni network, conservative preppy students (with the exception of Wesleyan which leans to the left). Do some reseatch on each and check them out.
