Recently I've been considering becoming a pharmacist. I feel like it would be an appropriate and interesting job for someone like me, but I have no idea how to get there. Is there any specific major I need to get into a pharmacy school? I'm going into college as a chemistry major, but could I possibly major in something like chemical engineering? Because I'm scared of not being able to get into pharmacy school and ending up with a fairly useless BS chem degree.

And how hard is it to get into pharmacy school? One of the reasons I've never considered becoming a doctor is because the chances of getting into med school are pretty dismal. From research, it seems that it's easier to get into a pharmacy program, but would it be realistic to say that the average applicant to pharmacy schools will get into at least one?

And, if I got a pharm.d, is there anything else I could do with the degree other than obviously being a pharmacist?
