Give me the low down on transferring from CAS Econ to Stern. What do I have to do?

  1. Yes I know its nearly impossible
  2. Yes I know a lot of CAS Econ people try to do it
  3. Yes I know I shouldn't have tried to backdoor but honestly don't think I would have been accepted to NYU had I applied to Stern

Now with that being said, I always hear of how hard it is to transfer. What’s hard about it? What would the new essay topics be about? The bane of my application is my high school GPA which is not high enough. And I’m to understand that NYU weighs your high school performance heavily, so I’m guessing that will badly affect me?

And the most important question, what is recommended? What is the best way to increase your chances of successfully transferring? What do I have to do?

Edit: Also, what would be some good reasons for transferring out?

Bump

It is not that hard in my opinion. All my friends were able to do so from CAS Econ to Stern. I transferred from Gallatin to Stern internally. I was studying Comp Sci and Economics. We all had 3.925GPA+. I wrote a really long and probably unnecessary essay while the rest wrote short half-assed ones. They pretty much only care about your college GPA.

@Rhuran‌ But according to the site, they care a lot about your high school stats? Did you also have any outstanding ECs/internships?
