Awhile back, I posted regarding whether or not I could handle AP chem. Here's part two: should I give up AP Studio Art to take it? (Right now I'm stuck in the hell of trying to switch this in my schedule for next year...)

I've been taking art since I started high school; I have a few awards to show off, membership in the art club, and I was selected by this local art program for a scholarship to take classes with them. I know that colleges like it when you follow through and stick with stuff...

Now, I want to major in Computer Science, but I'm also going to be looking into taking classes in game development, so I may end up at a more artsy school...I don't know if this makes my art background a plus or just extraneous.

So here's my real question: is it going to look flaky that I'm suddenly quitting art to take chem? I will continue with art club and this local program.

If you are going to major in Computer Science and be involved in art, why in the world would you need chemistry? If you enjoy art, take the AP Art course!

I do enjoy art, but geez, I do not want to take another art course. I spend way too much time on it and take it way too seriously and work too slowly and everything just seems to be deadlines and due dates and I get majorly stressed out, not to mention that my style is so completely spazzed I doubt I could come up with 12 pieces on a single subject for my concentration-- I just know that when the time for AP's comes I'm not going to have enough pieces and I'll just work myself harder and through the night and burn myself out because art makes me really stubborn-- I refuse to do anything if I can't do it right-- and I'll neglect all the courses I really need to be studying for.

So in short, I really don't want to take AP art. I think I'd enjoy Chem and I'm fairly certain that it's not going to be as much work as (I make) art.

But you said it: why in the world would I need chemistry? I just wonder how random this is going to look to colleges.

if u dont wanna do it then dont do it ...u can just force urself todo something...besides not that many people take ap art anywyas (only about 1500 take it or so) ...
