Given these stats... would I get in?

I already go to a MAPL boarding school [not Lawrenceville or Peddie] and I was just wondering if I could get into Exeter. I mean, I love the idea of going to Exeter, but I don't think I really should at this time. If I have children, I'd love for them to go there. Anyways, I want to know if I could get in as an 11th grader [I'm going into 10th grade next year]. I guess I just want to know if I am qualified enough, so I don't need to wonder in the future. But the thing is, I have to take SSATs again... are they reported on your transcript or to colleges? Also, if I give my stats, can you tell me if I should even bother?
I might apply to: Exeter, Saint Paul School, Andover, Choate, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, and Lawrenceville.

These are my stats:

Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.88/4.0 [More like a 93% out of 100%]
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): Top 4-5% out of 120
AP (place score in parenthesis): Not available for Freshmen or Sophomores. Took all honors classes, advanced Spanish and Math. Will take 7 APs in 11th and 12th. Can't take more than 5-6 classes.

Extracurriculars (this is also including a projected 10th grade):

School Newspaper - 2 Years. Head Staff Writer 2 Years. Given the Newspaper Excellence award (only person given) [Editor in Chief for 11th + 12th Grade]

Piano - Played since I was 4. Performed in New York. Not phenomenal, but I've been dedicated.

SADD Club - 1 Year Member, 1 Year Vice President. [President for 11th and 12th]

Teacher Recommendation:
Teachers like me. Don't know how much more they will in 10th grade.

Interview:
I think I'm half decent at interviews. I live in NJ, and I was wondering if I would have to drive all the way up there to interview...

State (if domestic applicant): NJ
School Type: Private boarding
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: 150,000 ish
Hooks: None

Thanks. I think the whole application would be helpful, regardless of whether or not I was accepted. I'm a good test taker. I did very well on the SSATs for Middle School and a 2260 on the SATs.

Could you list the answers like...
Exeter - Yes/No/Maybe/WL
Andover - Yes/No/Maybe/WL
Lawrenceville - Yes/No/Maybe/WL
Choate - Yes/No/Maybe/WL
Deerfield - Yes/No/Maybe/WL
Hotchkiss - Yes/No/Maybe/WL

Am I a qualified applicant?

holy sheet, YES they will ALLLLL take you. They are crazy not to. I am stunned looking at this. You make me look like crap.

Yes, but I’m asian and I’m applying for 11th grade… and my stats are only “amazing” or whatever because I’m in high school. My middle school didn’t offer ANY CLUBS at all.

Ah summer… no one goes on x.x

No one can tell you for sure if you WOULD get in, what satisfaction do you get my knowing if you COULD attend a top BS, if you’re not even applying.

“Girls Learn International - 1 year of student leader, possibly.”
Nice summer job.
Is this something you will partake in after your gender change, as in your fourth from the bottom paragraph you say your a male? Or do they let males into this activity?
Nice resume.

No. It’s a program that’s designated to help girls in international countries receive education.
It’s not about girls who learn about international affairs. They let males in. And what do you mean nice summer job? It was barely anything…

Well if its barely anything, why mention it?

I don’t think they are looking for a laundry list

Having been thru the process with similar stats, except diff sports and I am White Female, I was WL’d @ A/E. But… I did get THE call from Andover 7/1. My advice is to be yourself- good interviews and hang in there. Good Luck!

I think you’ve got a really good chance.
But getting in as an 11th grader is tough, and also, you’re an over-represented minority…
Still, I think you’ve got a really good chance.

Good luck!

Wow, you’re AWESOME XD
Since you mentioned that you are asian (like me), you might have about 7-11% chance as an international student in all boarding schools, but looking at your grades, I think your chances are much, much higher!! But if you are an Asian-American, I searched it up, and you have from 19%-24% acceptance rate. But like I said before, your stats look really, really good.
Good luck!! :D

Hello. Rebumps.

Well its hard to get in for your 11th year so you probably wont

and nice resume/ summer job

you are definitely qualified but be sure not to list EVERYTHING you’ve ever done. like 2010 hopeful said, they’re not looking for a laundry list. just list the important things and the things that matter and you should be fine :)

just out of curiosity, but which schools are the ones you’d like to attend the most?

Well I know for a fact that I’m far more qualified and intelligent than many HADES students… legacy, connections, race, and your general stereotype will only get you so far. It’s not like my current private/boarding school is that bad. It’s not.

wow…way to be full of yourself. i would be distressed if an arrogant person like you made it into a boarding school, taking the spot away from a person who really wants it and is NOT arrogant and stuck up.

you are asking for advice, take it like a man. you asked for our opinion, don’t get mad if you don’t like it.

Who are you? First of all, I wasn’t upset with anyone; most of the people here said that I was definitely qualified, with the possibility of race being an issue. Second of all, I’m not arrogant, and it’s unfortunate if that characteristic came across after you read my post. I said I am smarter than most top BS students - don’t you realize that so many BS students are there because of some family connection, or because they fit into the general, preferred stereotype of being white, of wealth, and somehow affiliated? I’m not saying this is true for all of them, but it is for the people who are at these schools because of who they are, and not because of what they have accomplished or done.

and may i ask how you know of the stats of the students at bs so well?

mabye youre thinking of the 1800’s when any rich idiot could go to yale/harvard/andover/exeter if they had the money
not so anymore
you got to have the brains and BE HUMBLE
and if you hate all the bs students why go?
