I'm planning on writing my Northwestern statement tonight and i just wanted to know if you could tell me some details about NU that wont necessarily be found in a college guide or northwestern catalog. u know, maybe like fun traditions, events, especially things to do with school spirit. Just things that a person would learn after attending Northwestern University. thanks!</p>
<p>Hmmm. That's a toughie. I wrote about the Rock and how I really liked the school spirit that goes into painting it to support an organization (I'm assuming you know what the Rock is - if you don't, let me know and I can 'splain). There is also Dance Marathon, Northwestern's annual philanthropy event (the largest student-run philanthropy event in the nation), and the Primal Scream, where at 9pm on the Sunday before finals week the whole campus lets out one big scream. I would just use anything you know about and kind-of mould it into a Northwestern community-type-of-thing, and how that makes you want to go there.
