Glasses in Durham?

Hey guys, I'm feeling a lot of eye strain and think that its about time I get glasses. Can someone at Duke tell me the best place to go for an eye exam. Please recommend places that pride themselves on prompt service, and are close to East Campus. Moderately priced opticians will be looked upon favorably even though I am insured. Please reply with any suggestions as I desperately need a pair of glasses! I know I shouldn't have waited till my eyes got so bad to get glasses but what can I say, I just squinted my way through my first semester! Please help ASAP

Costco (if Durham’s location has an optical department) is generally very good. My current pair of glasses is from them. Of course, you’ll need a membership or know someone with a membership.

Some locations even have optometrists at the same location or close by.

There’s probably a LensCrafters or Pearle Vision close by. Go to their websites and look up closest locations to Duke. You can always rent a WeCar if you need to drive but don’t have a car on campus.

There’s a LensCrafters in South Point mall, which is about 20 minutes from campus.

There’s a store called Optometric Eye Care in Northgate Mall, which you can reach if you walk north from East Campus for about 10-15 minutes. Another option is taking the bus to South point Mall, which I believe has a LensCrafters store. You can reach Southpoint by taking the Bull City Connector to the Durham Transportation Center, then taking DATA Bus 7 which takes you directly to Southpoint.

daughter walked to medical campus and got glasses at an optomotrist store there
