UCB is my son's first choice school. He applied in early Sept, had his transcripts, rec's and scores sent by late September. Everything was showing up as received for 6-7 weeks and today, after not being able to log in at all for a couple of jours...his status says "incomplete" and that his transcript is "initiated"???????????????????

He already had two glitches with the fee showing up and being unable to "unattach" and change an essay-even before it was submitted.

It seems unfair that the kid can cross EVERY "t" and obsessively make sure everything's in months before it's due...just for there to be a cross in wires 36 hours before the due date!!!!!

I really would recommend you call the Admissions Office to check on the status of all of his application materials. They are very nice and can help you out. Sometimes the online things get messed up, but that does not mean they do not have the materials. Just give them a call today.

Yah-he’s running around like a maniac. (Good for him) He emailed last night late and they got back to him this morning saying his transcript (which was mailed first class in a big envelope by the school with the rest of the transcripts, Guidance rec’s etc…) in mid September, wasn’t valid after looking closer because it needed to be “mailed directly from the school” Of course, after weeks of thinking all was well, and transcript was deemed legit, 36 hours before the EA date…it’s called into question. Only thing I can think is the school, to cover all bases, also sent them electronically. UCB doesn’t take them electronically (though-ironically they suggest having the school “email them”) so maybe those electronic documents “trumped” the ones that mailed earlier and no one is looking for the mailed stuff? It would be a shame that if after being the first in his huge HS to turn in the big white envelopes for transcripts the 4th day of school, that his first choice school is questioning their legitimacy 2 days before the due date. Might be partn of the bigger plan…maybe it’s not meant to be! He’s already in 5 schools

Rousse54 is correct - calling the Admissions Office, rather than e-mailing, may get you faster results. Good luck to your son and congrats on the acceptances he’s already received.
