<p>What banks are there in Austin that are well represented globally?</p>
<p>As an international, it would be better to for my parents to remit cash if said banks have branches in other countries and also LA (port of entry).</p>
<p>I asked a similiar question before and was givent the name of 2 banks, Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual.</p>
<p>As I am not familiar with either of these banks, could someone give more information on these 2 /alternative banks?</p>

<p>I'm betting Wells Fargo - since WF is pretty much the "main" bank I see throughout the UT system.</p>
<p>Bank of America has a TON of ATMs around campus, and a bank right on Guadalupe...I'm probably going to use them.</p>

i looked on the bank/atm locator for wellsfargo and the closest one is on the drag diagonal from dobie. </p>

<p>I believe the closest Wells Fargo ATM is the one on the drag. I'm not sure what you mean for the on-line purchases, but my son uses his Wells Fargo Visa check card for on-line purchases all the time.</p>
<p>Visa uses personal passwords for added protection for on-line purchases. </p>
<p>MasterCard and Discover issue virtual account numbers for on-line purchases.</p>
