Global Cultural Studies at Duke

Is undergraduate literature major called global cultural studies at Duke? I could not find the major on CA but noticed it was among the list of majors on the brochure.

Thanks!

The Program in Literature changed the name of its undergraduate major from the literature major to the global cultural studies major this year.

The Lit program at Duke is far more of a cultural studies and critical theory program-- I just finished taking the intro course (which was fantastic, by the way), and we discussed some of the themes involved with surveillance, biopolitics, and humanity. We read and worked with Foucault quite a bit, as well as Agamben, and read a lot of theory. We also watched some movies (Men in Black, Moon, Eagle Eye, and more) and looked at them from theoretical standpoints. The department also hosts quite a few courses in film and non-English authors/works (through the courses themselves are taught in English). A traditioanl Brit Lit/American Lit major can be found in English.

Thank you for your answer! After someone replies to my question I was about to ask if anyone knew some of the topics taught in this program. Just what I was looking for:)
