Global Entry Semester - binding?

I am about to submit my application to Colby, and I am curious as to whether the Global Entry Semester program is binding.

That is, if I say that I am interested in being considered for the GES program, will I be required to attend the program if I am accepted to Colby? If accepted into the program, am I allowed to choose between Spain and France?

Also, does this affect my chance of admission in any way?

I have done some research but there is not a lot of information online. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

My understanding is that they select students for the program who they think will be successful in it, so just because you indicated interest doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be selected. You would be chosen for the Spain or France program depending on which language you have already have some training in.

I should add that if you do get accepted into the GES, I think that is “binding” – in the sense that you would probably not have the option of spending your first semester in Waterville instead of Dijon or Salmanaca – you would have to go abroad or not go to Colby.

This is just my sense of it, being the parent of student who just did the GES in Dijon.

Is it open to international students?

@Danny3895, I don’t know for sure, but I think it is open to international students
