I just recieved an invitation to join the GL program. I'm really curious since I've never heard of it, even on this forum. Any info would be much appreciated. Also, I was wondering if you can do this in addition to Thematic Option.

This is awesome! I am jealous. Could you please post your stats? Also, did you receive any scholarships from USC?

Here is a description from the MSB:
"The Global Leadership Program is open by invitation to the most academically talented students in each incoming class. These students form their own cohort, take the Freshmen Leadership and Global Leadership seminars their first year, and have access to many exciting opportunities including visiting international businesses here and abroad, job shadowing, and priority access to our three joint programs."

And you can do that and TO. I know some people in GLP, TO, and the Cinema Joint Track.

my stats are nothing to write home about. im surprised that usc is giving me such good treatment

Asian male, 1st generation immigrant, in magnet program at my hs

2270, 800v 730m, 740w
690 mII, 780 ush, 740 phys
3.54uw, 4.4 w
mediocore ec's

i'm from maryland though and not alot of people go to USC here so that might be a factor.

Thanks. Your stats are very much above average and the leadership program is focused primarily on SAT scores (top 1-2%) so that explains it. You are very fortunate.

I got the invitation too, at the scholarship interview. I'm definately going to do this program and TO at USC!

Brief stats: 2270 sat, 4.0uw gpa, full IB.

What is TO?

Students in the Global Leadership program have priority access to Marshall's Joint programs. For example a major in Business Administration with emphasis in International Relations.
My question is: Is it manageable to DOUBLE MAJOR in one of Marshall's Joint Programs along with something else in 4 years? Is this too big of a task considering the program is really extensive and there are more required units than the usual double major?
Any comments would be appreciated!

Considering the fact that a joint degree program takes 4 year with much work, I am almost certain that it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to complete a joint degree program AND another major. A joint degree program is almost a double major in itself.

The joint track is more like a major with a minor. If you don't have anything coming in to waive calc, econ, GE's then you'd only have 2 elective units left and that's w/ doing a GE/diversity req w/ the same class.

Woah, deja-vu! (..ok not really..)

That is the exact track I'm aiming for in my forseeable future! :P
