i'm interested in possibly minoring in something health related and came across the global public health minor on UVa's page, and it sounds pretty interesting, but i'm having trouble finding more information about it besides the one main page overview.

anyone know where i can find more info on it, or tell me about it from experience/what others have said?

also, what other minors or areas of study similar to this are offered at UVa?

i am thinking about majoring in something either business or public policy related. do you think that, paired with some sort of health minor, that would be a good idea? also, how strong are those to majors at UVa?

thanks!!!

I am fairly certain most people interested in public health pursue a masters degree after their undergrad degree…so I think if you major in a science, or policy, area, you would be fine…that being said, I am not familiar w/UVA’s minor in public health.

The program’s website gives you most of the information.

If you just google uva gph minor it’ll pop up.

It’s a few required courses, but also has a required project attached.

There’s semester meetings and etc. I think there’s so many opportunities with this. You can really do so much. If you surf around you can find people that have done projects in various countries.

At UVa Business is the Comm School or an Econ major. I think both would be good with this. PP is a Masters Degree. I think you can take a few classes at the Batten School, but you wont’ get too much until you do the masters.

If you want to go into the public health field you need a masters, but this is a good stepping stone there.
