GMU Early Action

Not recieved: Suffolk, VA

Baronbvp, not only that but the engineering school at Mason ranks 6th in the country for return on investment:

My son is in engineering and also honors college. I highly recommend the honors college LLC ("living learning community)… but there are also lots of other LLCs for other interests such as green living, outdoor adventure, leadership, global studies, etc, so one need not be in the honors college to get that experience.

Those of you who haven’t received letters, I wouldn’t be worried yet as I know other local students who are getting acceptance letters from the same colleges but on different days.

Nitro- nothing here either, also Fairfax county.

My son got it early action, last week, few days before the notification date.
We live in NY, notified by mail.

Waiting on honors college and merit decisions but very excited about
the prospect of GMU.

12/16… Nope not here today either.

I’m in Connecticut and I still haven’t gotten mine!

I do remember now that since I was sent the Modern Minds application, which included the perk of priority admission consideration. If you still haven’t received your letter, rest assured it’s coming soon

Thanks Bookmouse. Glad to hear about the strength of the GMU online engineering program. I got my undergrad in industrial and systems engineering from USC but have considered going to GMU for my doctorate (in residence, though, not online). My son applied EA to the undergrad business program but is excited about its LLC community if he gets into the Honors College.

Nitro123, he got his acceptance letter on Sat 12/14 and we live in Chantilly in Fairfax County, VA.

I think the rankings were for the engineering program in general, baronbvp, not specifically online programs, though I see the wording on the site is confusing. Mason’s Volgenau Engineering School also has a link on their page:

I’m in northern Virginia and it seems a lot of students in this area have not received their EA letters yet. I remember my son getting his before Christmas two years ago.

Letters about honors college and Cornerstones (special freshman program by invitation), etc., come later… I don’t remember how much later…

Haven’t received mine either, really nervous. Fairfax County, VA btw. One of my classmates got a notification and accepted though.

Got mine today! Applied with Modern Minds, live in South Central PA.

Still haven’t heard… Maybe I just wasn’t accepted :’(

What were your letters dated and when did you recieve them?

Haven’t gotten my letter either :frowning: I think because I live on the WC it might take longer? Idk but I hope I and those of you who did not receive yet will get it soon! Until then I will anxiously be waiting by the mailbox everyday…

I haven’t gotten my letter either. One of my classmate already got her. I’m worried and check my mailbox everyday. I also called the twice but they told me hold tight. Do you think I will get rejected?

I think you have a good chance. Better than my 3.2…

If I don’t get in there, I don’t think I have any choice but community college. I fall within Virginia tech’s average but people who got in tech last year were smart…

Don’t start worrying about it yet, people. GMU sends letters out in groups, they don’t all go out in one or two (or three) days. And bibekpachhai, based on your stats alone, you should get in just fine.

Me and my 3.2 along with 22 Act ;_;
