Are you looking at other instate schools besides JMU and GMU? If you do end up starting in community college, you could open up even more opportunities through the articulation agreements. Colleges like to see upward trends, so try very hard to improve your GPA in your senior year.

Also look into UMW.
What’s your financial situation? Can your parents cover the costs of in-state public universities?

Sevmom I am looking at other instate schools such as radford, ODU, West Virginia, also thank you for advice I appreciate it a lot! Also MYOS1634 my mom actually is a single parent and my dad isn’t around sadly but my mom is willing to work 3 jobs at the moment just to save for my education, which is amazing I just don’t want to let her down.

If you’ve got high need and are excellent at theater, I recommend Muhlenberg. Your cumulative GPA is quite on the low side but they like upward trends; if you study for the SAT according to the Xiggi Method (or the Silverturtle method, both available for free on the “test” forum of this website), practice practice practice, and get a good score, you’ve got very good chances. They’ve got a SUPERB theater program with NYC contacts and they have very good financial aid.

In VA also look at Longwood, CNU, VCU for theatre.
