Go Army - Beat Navy!

It's that time of year again -- Here's a great Army spirit piece:

Enjoy....SINK NAVY!

Did we win?
I was at work, so I missed the game! :(

Unfortunately, Army lost... six straight game lost against Navy..
The final score was 38 - 3

Ouch...

Go Navy...Beat Army...Again!!!

While watching it, it seemed like a much closer game than the scoreboard showed. The practically goal line fumble didn't help...

I was there and yes the game was closer than the score shows. Army made some inopportune mistakes that really cost them. Army played with heart and class the entire game and never gave up. The cadets in the stands supported their team and cheered them on to the very end.

Was it just me or was this game a little more feisty than usual, too? I saw some pushing and shoving at the beginning and maybe in the third which I've never noticed before.

Yes, Army played with heart. Yes, there were some inopportune mistakes for which the Navy defense cannot even take credit (dropped touchdown pass, missed field goal from the most consistent player on the team, fumble on the 1 yard line). Then there was the Navy punt return for a touchdown. And I also thought there was a bit of shoving that I had not seen during other A-N games. But it was nothing terrible at all - really very minor.

But the weather was absolutely beautiful. The tee shirts were cool. A cadet tackled the goat. I got to meet Ann and her family. I fed lots of hungry cadets. We met some fabulous old grads.

It just doesn't matter who wins. It's just the best sporting event I've ever attended. On to Philly next year!

Hey, shogun, how are the odds on the Rose Bowl? Go Illini!! :D

I feel really bad for Mike Viti. I met him at SLS and fumbling at 1yd line in your last(or almost last) college play in THIS game has to be hard.

The scuffling wasn't major, but it was something I hadn't seen before. I just read an article about Ballard, though. Pretty interesting stuff, if not mildly disappointing.

First, word filtered back that Army free safety Jordan Murray had threatened to break the leg of Navy fullback Adam Ballard.

Ballard carried on the opening play from scrimmage and was immediately roughed up after the whistle blew by middle linebacker Brian Chmura. Murray and some other Army defenders started jawing at Ballard and he noticed they all had his No. 22 scripted into their eye black.
