Congratulations! On behalf of the Committee on Admissions, I am pleased to offer you a place in Notre Dame's 2006 Freshman Class. I trust that you will view this offer of admission as a special recognition of your accomplishments during the past four years and as a vote of confidence in your potential for success during your college years.

Congratulations to you fv920 for getting into this school, its truly a great place.

To the last two posters. I would caution against trying to build up your own hopes about whether or not you will get admitted based on someone elses's scores. I know personally from a list of schools comparable to ND - which included WashU, John's Hopkins, Northwestern and a few others. I was waitlisted everywhere I applied except at ND where I got in early action and was offered a slot in the A&L/Science Honors Program. My point is that admissions is a crapshoot, there are more qualified applicants then slots...you know the whole spiel. So why obsess about whether you are more or less qualified than someone who got in. Good luck to anyone waiting to hear!!! But seriously... go enjoy the next couple of days.

hey! ok my stats are: sat 1210 (610 CR, 600 M), 3.94 gpa uw, #2 out of 28 in my class, salvadoran, and a bunch of ecs which would take some time to write em all. the point here is that my sats weren't that great, yet i made it! wooo

ehmm.. hooks? well... im from el salvador so that could be it... also first generation.... BUT i asked for financial aid and supposedly that places me in a very competitive applicant pool.... who knows... but im extremely happy

fv920
requests for financial aid shouldn't make a difference. ND rep came to my school and officially ND has a blind admissions policy meaning they do not look at income or financial aid in making admission decisions.
Congrats on getting in, I only wish I had been admitted. I gto my rejection letter yesterday.

fv920 - i know you mentioned being from el salvador...so are you able to apply for financial aid? The internation students whom I know of, be they permanent resident aliens in this country or else simply coming here for school were all on their own in terms of sources of funding to come here...

to almost Irish2006 - ND may have a blind admissions policy when it comes to admission for american citizens, but that doesn't mean the rules are the same for internationals. fv920 - Before I come to the wrong conclusions or say things that may have changed in the last two-three years - do international students have the option of applying for financial aid? Are you a "international student." I want to avoid saying anything that makes it sound as though I am jumping to conclusions...

"well... im from el salvador so that could be it" = were you born and raised in el salvador? Did your parents move to the United States? Saying your from el salvador implies to me that you currently live there, and thus would be considered an "international" (ie non US applicant). Your puzzlement over this term suggests to me that you are in fact living in the US, and that one or both of your parents are from el salvador.

no, no u've got me wrong... i was born in el salvador, i was raised in el salvador, and im currently IN el salvador... i applied as intl.... i dont have US residency or citizenship.... intls can apply for aid
