Crap, I already signed up for the textbook reservation service online. I asked for the least amount such as used textbooks w/out the quick study bar charts…anything that seemed the cheapest I signed up for. But now I’m realizing that even then, I might be spending more money than I should.

How do I get out of the reservation service? I’m really low on money right now

Just call the bookstore to cancel. Even if you ask for the used books, sometimes the bookstore doesn’t carry them and will just give you new ones instead. You should definitely get out of it asap

When u rent the textbook, can u highlight in it? or maybe right some notes?

I doubt it, I mean, its technically like a library right? Just stick with post-its.

I’m not sure you should cancel the textbook reservation. I don’t think you have to buy all of them and there might be something you need as half.com and amazon are not a sure thing for 100% of your needs. Then there are some custom UCSD texts. I just took what I wanted from the reserved books and left or returned the rest. And like someone said last year, the box is really nice!

The only problem with renting a book from something like Chegg is that you only get the book for a quarter. What if you need it for the whole year? Plus, when you sell the books back from Amazon, you can subtract what you sold it for off of the price, which probably makes it cheaper than Chegg.

Ok…I’m confused now. Should I cancel the textbook reservation or not?

^I would try to if I were you.

^Seconded… wise upperclassman speaking here :)

^ i third it. TRS = biggest waste of money ever

^… 4th it.

hold up, freshmen haven’t signed up for classes yet. and we don’t get classes till september. well at least for sixth college. how the hell are we supposed to buy from half if we can’t? it seems like they’re trapping us so reservation is inevitable.

Don’t worry - half.com is easy. you register for your classes and you buy the books, and by the time the books are shipped your classes start. Generally you don’t even need books for the first week.

Sounds great, I had the same question boboman did. And I just cancelled the reservation phew saving money lol

^Good for you! Applause

trs says they’ll bill us Aug 26 when we haven’t even signed up for classes yet, wth?

Imma call em up tomorrow.

Does half.com ever go out of stock?

Just cause you get billed doesn’t mean the bill is due then.
