goBuckeye Day 2017 --- Are you going?

Hi!

We’re OOS, and I am attending with my D this Friday. We’re looking forward to it! Anyone have any prior experience with goBuckeye Day? I’d love to hear your experience.

Btw, we’re actually going up a day early so that my D can shadow a student in the CFAES through its Experience Ohio State program. She’s looking forward to the opportunity. Anyone done the Experience Ohio State program through the CFAES?

TIA!

My daughter is a 3rd generation Buckeye, but she didn’t decide until Go Buckeye day! She was deciding between William & Mary (her dream school since she was a toddler) and OSU. We are not only in state, but live in Columbus, so she was almost too familiar with OSU - that said, the day sealed it and she hasn’t once regretted her decision. It is a pretty flexible day with lots to choose from - she chose what we did and I just trailed along. They did a phenomenal job with the variety and with the presenters. I do recommend doing the MSP reception if you have the opportunity. Feel free to PM if you have any questions - my daughter is also MSP & scholars.

Please don’t hold the weather against us - it is supposed to snow tomorrow, but will be 75 by Sunday!

@mom1girl, Hi! We loved goBuckeye Day! We also enjoyed our Experience Ohio State for A Day program in the CFAES the day before and the MSP/ODI dinner the night before. Among many things, I was was impressed with how Ohio State does an excellent job of making a huge school seem small(er). Everything was incredibly organized and everyone was helpful, friendly, and informative. My D enjoyed learning more about the two majors she’s considering as well as the Scholars program she was accepted to. She also go to tour the dorm she’d be assigned to with her Scholars Program. That was a relief! It wasn’t nearly as bad as we were anticipating. (The online photos don’t do it justice.). Now she just has to make her decision. Hopefully she’ll decide this coming week!

With regard to the weather…Although I had mentally checked out of winter, it was no big deal. I keep a pair of gloves and a hat in my purse at all times. They came in handy! I had a coat, umbrella, and bundled up and kept it moving! By the time we left, the sun was out a wee bit. It turned out to be a nice, mild day weather wise!

Glad that your D found a place that she loves — right in her own backyard!

@mom1girl,

Update: goBuckeye Day sealed the deal. My D has decided to become a Buckeye! We’re (my husband and me) excited for her!
