it does matter if believing in god results in intellectual complacency

if you don’t know something, and just state the “god did it” then there’s no motivation to actually find out the truth. this results in stagnation in which there is no growth intellectually and basically everything that is unknown in the world remains unknown

so i’m pretty sure that by not just saying “god did it” there is more motivation to find the truth and expand our intellectual horizons

in other words, it does matter, a lot

“intellectual complacency”…really? what kind of intellectual complacency are you talking about? the one related to science? well, I do not really see how Greeks or in fact any other civilizations who blamed/congratulated Gods for everything…uh, i told i don’t wanna dwell into this whole conversation so I won’t. But I’d just say one more thing and that is: the kind of ‘motivations’ to find the ‘truth’ are solely your goals…coz, frankly, if you look at the majority of the people in the world…they don’t give a **** about finding the truth…and your post clearly suggest that you do not believe in God…so, again your perspective would be justifiable to the ones who don’t…but not to those who do…coz, when ppl say (who also believe in God) “God did it”..they rather find satisfaction and motivation instead of something else. It gives them the answer that satisfies them.

Somewhere along the line the religious people managed to get into the schools and minds of people who don’t know any better that evolution is “a theory” it is not a fact. It’s really a darn shame. So is gravity.

Yay ignorance spreading :(
