God seems illogical

how profound.

"GOD MAY SEEM ILLOGICAL BECAUSE HE IN FACT MAY WANT TO PRESENT HIMSELF AS "ILLOGICAL", AND INSTEAD WISHes TO TEST YOUR HEART INSTEAD OF YOUR BRAIN WHEN THINKING ABOUT HIM.."

Then, as Nietzsche once remarked, "in heaven all the interesting people are missing." Experience teaches people to rely on logic. Outside of metaphysics, a leap of faith will most certainly not end well.

I've always thought that Heaven would be filled with people like that. From reading the Bible, I observed that Jesus hung out with folks who were the lowest in society. Jesus himself was poor and lived the life of a nomad. He was killed by people who was society's best and seemed "interesting." In my mind, heaven would be a place where the humble and oppressed were exulted.

God gave humans the ability of free choice and will. Now I know that some of you are saying if God gave us this then how can he know everything that will happen in our lifetime. For that question, I canNOT answer, but I can say I wish for you to make up your own mind with religous leaders and follow whats in your heart. Being a Christian, I am supposed to come out and convert people. Personally, I know its hard to persuade others who are of different faiths, and one can not be certain of who is right. Its all about your choice. I do believe that God exhists, I do believe that all the other religions except Jewdism and Islam are wrong, and I do believe that you have to decied it on your own. You can Not be forced.

.....whew, that was fun:)

i hope you would like to know that I WILL PRAY FOR YOU

My faith is not based on fear or because I'm a wimp. I believe because I see no way that the world could still be here if there was no such thing as God. I will pray for you as well. I will pray for the Lord to open your eyes and for you to see what is truly around you, His creation. About hte war claims in actuality soldiers who have a strong faith fight more valently because they no that no matter what their time on this earth is temporary and they will be called back to heaven one day.

One another note have you ever heard the saying "If you are not a communist at 20 you have no heart, if you are still a communist at 40 you have no head" ? I think although you most likely are not forty you haven't the sense to recognize what faith is and what it is based upon. Belief in something you have no real way of proving.

ah so much rage at such a young age. how unhealthy. i'll pray as well, that you may be reincarnated as a starbucks worker in kansas who serves tall caramel macchiatos to capitalist pigs with square plastic-framed glasses.

"If you are not a communist at 20 you have no heart, if you are still a communist at 40 you have no head" ?

********. That's not the saying, it's something like "If you are not a liberal at age 20 you have no heart, if you are not a conservatice at 40 you have no head?"

That saying was from Winston Churchill I think. And he was referring to the respective parties of Great Britain. SO **** YOU.

yea i'll buy into what churchill said, that stupid capitalist pig.

Well I guess my IR book lies Sorry

i will pray for you more now...

For sociohistorical connotative reasons, I prefer to call God, "the All-Encompassing Spirit."

The All-Encompassing Spirit isn't illogical because there is no such thing as illogical. EVERYTHING IS LOGICAL.

Really, you don't even need to think you have faith in The All-Encompassing Spirit in order to believe in It because everything (that includes you) is a manifestation of The All-Encompassing Spirit.

Yeah, I'm a Mahayana Buddhist majoring in Philosophy. We believe in everything because The All-Encompassing Spirit is everything, so everything that makes up parts of the All-Encompassing Spirit IS the All-Encompassing Spirit....

Even if you think you don't agree with what I'm saying, you can't disprove it because the act of disproving it is in actuality already a fact proving that your ideas are a part of The All-Encompassing Spirit.

Mzlover: That is seriously one of the most illogical arguments I have ever heard in my life.

Sigh.

There is no such thing as an illogical argument.

But if you don't "get it" now, don't worry, one day at least one atom in your body will when it flows between another's synapses.

But if you'd like a little reading in the meantime, check out::

"I once again asked a question related to the one that I had asked previously.

I asked this professor what the process was by which the original life--the original living cells upon the earth--came into existence. How did the structure or generation of DNA occur?

Once again, this man said, 'Young man, that is not a question that falls within the realm of science."

I guess what was happening to me was the same thing that Lord Kelvin, a very famous British scientist, described in his writings when he made the statement, "If you study science deep enough and long enough it will force you to believe in God"

--from http://doesgodexist.org/AboutClayton/PastLife.html

the Almighty exists.

Atheists, you never have to be forced, but always keep an open "mind".

Very true, a large number of scientists believe in a "force."

Right now, in my very hands I'm holding a book titled "The Mind of God: The Scientific Basis for a Rational World" written by Paul Davies, a respected professor of Mathematical Physics in Australia.

As he brilliantly puts it, "Atheism is the opium of the sociologically depressed."

Isaac Newton was a firm believer in God:

"Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done."

"*"Atheism is so senseless. When I look at the solar system, I see the earth at the right distance from the sun to receive the proper amounts of heat and light. This did not happen by chance." *

A lot of people seem to note that many scientists come to believe in the existence of a god through science. However, doesn't it seem like most scientists who come to believe in a god in such a manner tend to believe in the deism type god, not a christian or specified religion type of a god?

Just a thought to ponder. I think deism is very different from christianity and the like even though when many people hear that a scientist believes that a god does exists tends to think of the christian god...

The Christian God is what you make of Him.

If you really dislike the way He has been taugh to you (that is the most common reason why people become atheists), then seek out another definition of "God"!

Of course the scientiest believe in Deism, but you know what, they also concluded that it their God was the same as the Christian God.

All in all, people are quick to judge Christianism just like they are to judge anything else in this modern era. If everyone just gave it a little thought (like the scientists do), they'd realize that the entire universe (which undoubtedly exists), is the same thing as the Christian God......in other words, human beings are a part of God.

If you want to go ahead and believe that humans don't exists, I feel genuinely sorry for you.

You have an interesting perspective, MzLover3...I kind of like it.
